Help! I’ve lost my documentation!
Effective 20 July 2013: Replacement Documentation Policy
All Flat 6 Innovations engines, and procedures are supplied with extensive reference material, specifications, service information, and photos. These are provided to the original purchaser upon completion of our processes.
Engines, and processes completed prior to 2013 come with a specification manual, while those completed post 2013 have all data delivered via a USB drive attached to the vehicle’s ignition key upon return to the owner. Original purchasers should download this information to a back up drive, and safeguard it, as replacement information is not available, should it be lost.
We receive a lot of requests from new buyers of vehicles that have our engines fitted, as well as those who had seen our repairs, or preventative procedures applied. These people typically make a request for information about their engine, but they are not our customer. Due to privacy agreements with our purchasers, the information is only available to our direct purchaser, and only during their ownership of the vehicle, and for only 24 months following the procedure completion. Records that are filed on site are available for 24 months following our procedures being carried out. All requests from original purchasers for documents, or information received during this time will be considered at a nominal fee, which will be set based on the level of information that is requested. All documentation pertaining to jobs that were completed more than 24 months before the time of the request cannot be accessed, as it is archived off- site.
New buyers of vehicles that are advertised with our engines/ processes carried out must acquire all information from the seller.
Replacement information has been supplied to vehicle purchasers (with consent from our original purchaser) at a nominal fee in the past, but after receiving many less than favorable exchanges with those who felt this information should be “given away” we no longer offer replacement information that is available for purchase. Please do not ask.
Due to this, it is essential that the information that we have taken so much time to compile during our procedures is retained by the vehicle owner, properly safeguarded, and then conveyed to the new owner at the time of the sale.
